According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 49-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Monday after he was pulled over on Whiskey Road for driving without operating taillights. The man smelled of alcohol and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A burglary was reported at a home on Pickens Avenue on Monday. The victim reported that nothing was missing, but it appeared someone had made a bed in a back bedroom of the home. Officers determined that someone likely entered the home, which was being renovated, and slept there.
Officers responded to an alarm caused by an open door at the Aiken County Historical Museum on Monday. They cleared the building and secured the door.
A window was busted on a van parked in a car lot on Richland Avenue on Monday.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
An Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone tried to add a phone to her account at the Apple store in Augusta.
A tractor and a trailer were reported stolen from a church on West Frontage Road in Aiken on Monday.
An Aiken man reported on Monday that someone used his Visa card to make an unauthorized transaction.
A burglary was reported at a home on Fairlane Drive in North Augusta on Monday. A television, jewelry and clothes were reported missing.
An additional burglary was reported on Elton Avenue in Clearwater on Monday. Medication was reported missing.
