Aiken man dies after car hits utility pole

An Aiken man died after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday morning in Barnwell County.

Daniel D. Ramseur, 26, of Whitemarsh Drive, was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident that occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on S.C. 125 within the boundaries of the Savannah River Site, according the Barnwell County Coroner’s Office.

According to Highway Patrol, Ramseur was traveling south on S.C. 125 when his 2003 Chevrolet veered off the road, struck a utility pole and the vehicle overturned.

The Coroner’s Office stated that Ramseur was wearing a seat belt.

The accident is still under investigation.
