According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 21-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Monday after being pulled over on York Street when a caller reported an impaired driver. The man smelled strongly of alcoholic beverage and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A 45-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Monday after she tried to take a pack of meat from a store on York Street without paying.
An unknown man took three cases of beer from a store on Whiskey Road without paying on Tuesday.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Whiskey Road on Monday. The owner reported her wallet missing.
A burglary was reported at a business on University Parkway on Monday. The owner reported damage to a safety door, exterior walls, security cameras, a rooftop fan and the telephone box. While reviewing security footage, officers saw two men appear on camera about 8:40 p.m. Sunday before the cameras stopped functioning.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A burglary was reported at a home on Lehigh Avenue in North Augusta on Monday. The owner reported electronics, jewelry, a gun and clothing missing.
Additional burglaries were reported on Alley Street in Gloverville, Old Powderhouse Road in Aiken, Cumbee Trail Road in Ridge Spring, U.S. 78 in Windsor, Edgewood Drive in North Augusta, Ashley Circle in North Augusta and Belair Road in North Augusta.
Wires and metal were reported stolen from a cellphone tower on Old Ridge Road in North Augusta on Monday.
An unknown man took a package of meat without paying from a store on Jefferson Davis Highway in Warrenville on Monday.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Robert Bell Parkway in Aiken on Monday.
