Suspect in Clearwater carjacking sought by police
A man accused in a carjacking last week is suspected in another incident that happened on Sunday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
John Henry Blocker, 49, was identified as a suspect in a carjacking at the Bi-Lo in Clearwater on Sunday, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office. The victim told deputies she parked her car near the store about 6:20 p.m. when Blocker approached her, pointed a gun and told her to exit the vehicle.
As the victim ran toward the entrance of the store, she saw her vehicle being driven away by the suspect.
The vehicle is described as a gold 2000 Nissan Maxima with S.C. license plate IIA739.
Warrants had previously been issued for Blocker for carjacking and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Investigators have obtained additional warrants for Sunday’s incident.
Blocker also had a warrant for his arrest for receiving stolen goods from an incident in September.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking people to use caution and be aware of their surroundings. Blocker should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about either of these cases or the whereabouts of Blocker is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 803-648-6811, or CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC.
