Aiken (29-3, 6-0 Region 5-AAAA) kept its unbeaten region slate going with the 25-19, 25-13, 25-20 home win over White Knoll on Tuesday.
Leading the way for the Hornets was Anna Tovo with 21 kills, and she added 17 digs, second only to libero Taylor Mabry’s 26 digs. Emily Teelon chipped in for 28 assists for Aiken.
The Hornets will next play at Dutch Fork on Thursday.
South Aiken 3,
Dutch Fork 0
South Aiken secured the 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 region win over Dutch Fork at home.
Lauren Howard had 18 assists and added seven kills, while Katlyn Serago added four kills and two blocks. Also collecting four kills were Bailey Parker and Brianna Gould, and Lisa Herbold had three kills and two blocks.
In junior varsity action, the T-Breds won 25-19, 25-14 with Stephanie Stevens collecting three kills and Ashley Blair adding three kills and two blocks.
Midland Valley 3,
Midland Valley (9-6, 5-2 Region 5-AAA) picked up the region victory, taking down Swansea 25-5, 25-16, 25-20.
Madilyn Reed had nine kills, four digs and two aces for the Mustangs, and Kia Hawkins added five kills. Samantha Foster chipped in four aces and eight assists.
Midland Valley will travel to play Greenbrier (Ga.) today at 5 p.m.
Ridge Spring-Monetta 2-2,
Ridge Spring-Monetta (8-3, 6-2 Region 4-A) swept the region doubleheader 25-15, 25-17 and 25-12, 25-22.
Tiffany Gomillion had four aces, three blocks, five kills and five digs in the first game, while Raven Valentine had six blocks, eight kills and two assists. In the second game, Valentine had eight blocks, eight kills and two more assists, while CaDedra Sullivan had five kills, two aces and two blocks.
In junior varsity play, RS-M won 25-10.
The Trojans will play at McCormick on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Fox Creek 2-2,
Fox Creek (14-4, 7-0) stayed dominant in Region 4-A play, sweeping Wagener-Salley (5-4, 5-3) in a doubleheader 25-18, 25-6 and 25-7, 25-11.
The Predators will next go to Augusta Prep today, and the War Eagles will host Hunter-Kinard-Tyler on Tuesday.
