High school football roundup for Week Six

SILVER BLUFF 28, BAMBERG-EHRHARDT 7

Silver Bluff (5-1, 1-0 Region 5-AA) opened up region play with a road win over Bamberg-Ehrhardt (1-5, 0-1).

The Bulldogs used a balanced rushing attack, with Shaquez Wright leading the way with 103 yards and a touchdown. RJ Stallings added 78 yards on five carries, and Miles Corbitt carried the ball nine times for 78 yards.

Senior quarterback Jaylen Lawrence had a hand in the rest of the scoring. He ran for a touchdown and completed 2 of 3 passes for 73 yards, with one of the completions going for a 50-yard score to McKenzie Wilson.

Lawrence, also a safety, returned an interception for a score. Silver Bluff will host Wade Hampton next Friday.

WARDLAW 49, GREENWOOD 6

Wardlaw (6-0) stayed unbeaten with a runaway victory at Greenwood Christian on Friday.

Malik Lee averaged better than 32 yards a carry with five rushes for 164 yards and three scores. Quarterback Holdon Maley also had a good night on the ground, carrying the ball 18 times for 137 yards and apair of scores.

Ed Williams completed a 27-yard touchdown pass to Ben Dotson, and Spencer Moore rounded out the scoring with a touchdown.

The Patriots will play at Charleston Cathedral next Friday.
