Aiken residents attend leadership conference

Aiken County residents Debbie Etheredge and Betty Jackson were among a group of more than 100 women from across the state who attended the 2013 South Carolina Farm Bureau Annual Women’s Leadership Conference at Woodside Plantation in Aiken County.

Participants took part in workshops that addressed nutrition and misconceptions, personal development and tools they can use to promote agricultural literacy in their local counties. The conference concluded with a tour of historic Aiken.

Farm Bureau Women at county, state and national levels coordinate agricultural education and promotional activities. Their work includes supporting important family and agricultural legislation, youth programs, educational activities, leadership development and commodity promotions.
