The SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare held Lana-PAW-looza on Sept. 21. The event was held as a fundraiser and was named in honor of volunteer Lana Dyer who passed away in May.

She was one “the core of the core” volunteers, Sarah Neikam, SPCA volunteer coordinator, said.

The event featured themed booths with matching adult beverages and food samples. Visitors voted on their favorite booth. The winner received a Great Smoky Mountains cabin getaway sponsored by Rod and Lisa Burch, supporters of SPCA.

There was also a silent auction, a sidewalk chalk art event and a twilight walk for animals.
