Dunn completes assignment at Shaw
Lt. Col. Donald “Double D” Dunn just completed a three-year assignment at the U.S. Air Force Command at Shaw AFB. While there, he served as the deputy chief of exercise and operations division.
He was responsible for leading joint and coalition teams in the planning, organizing, funding and execution of all CJCS exercises in the Middle East.
Dunn coordinated numerous exercise details among Department of Defense, Air Force Major Command Elements, U.S. Central Command components and attached offices around the world. He recently oversaw an exercise of 300 personnel from the Combined Air and Space Operations Command located at Al UDeid Air Base in Qatar.
He is a 1983 graduate of Silver Bluff High School; a 1987 Wofford graduate with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. He earned his MBA in military management from Trident University. He flew the SH-3G helicopter in the U.S. Navy; flew the KC-135E with the (150th/141st Air Refueling Squadron) New Jersey Air National Guard and flew the KC-135R with the 77th ARS at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C.
Dunn recently returned to U.S. Airways, where he is a first officer on the Boeing 767 and 757.
Dunn is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dunn Sr. of Beech Island. He is married to the former Angela Lefft and has two sons, Justin Donald Lefft and Bradley Jackson Dunn.
