Williston-Elko (3-2, 1-0 Region 4-A) won its region opener in blowout fashion Friday night against North (2-2, 0-1).
Quarterback Dalton Mundy found two ways to score, completing 6 of 7 passs for 137 yards and three touchdowns while running for another. Christian Sapp caught a pair of the touchdown passes with Marcell Wright catching one, and Andrew Milligan ran 11 times for 137 yards and two more scores. Nate Cunningham also had a big night in Williston-Elko’s running game with nine carries for 96 yards and a touchdown.
The Blue Devils will host Wagener-Salley (4-1, 1-0) next Friday.
WARDLAW ACADEMY 49, JEFFERSON DAVIS 8
Wardlaw (4-0) stayed unbeaten on the year behind another stellar performance by Malik Lee.
The junior ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns on six carries in Friday’s game, and quarterback Holton Manley ran once for a 79-yard score. Rycharde Coats also had a high average with two carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. Daylen Morris and Hammond Manley also found the end zone for the home team.
The Patriots will host Andrew Jackson Academy next Friday.
