It’s not over.

While the Monetta Drive-In Theatre did not win in the first wave of Honda’s Project Drive-In, there may be hope yet.

Honda is giving away four more digital projectors to the drive-in theaters across the nation that have not made the switch from 35 mm film to digital.

The Monetta Drive-In, also known as The Big Mo, is one of those drive ins.

“We planned on saving five drive-ins, but with your help we will be able to help save nine,” according to Honda’s website.

Now until Sept. 21, people can show their support for The Big Mo in one of four ways: voting by texting Vote52 to 444999 or online, making a donation, visiting the drive-in this season or downloading the support package off the website.

“Let the voting begin – again,” as stated on the theater’s website.

Winners will be announced on Sept. 23, according to Honda’s website.

Digital projectors cost around $70,000 to $80,000.

The Big Mo has three screens that need replacing.

The drive-in has been open since 1951.
