WILLISTON-ELKO 55, DENMARK-OLAR 14
Williston-Elko (2-2) went on the road and evened its record with a win over Denmark-Olar (0-4) on Friday.
The Blue Devils used 10 different ball carriers, led by Marcell Wright with nine carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Milligan added 37 yards and two scores on five carries, and Faheem Richburg caught a pass for one touchdown and ran for another. Dalton Mundy went 4-for-6 passing with 34 yards and a touchdown, and his leading receiver was Christian Sapp, who had two catches for 37 yards and ran twice for 26 more yards.
Williston-Elko will open Region 4-A play at home against North (2-1) next Friday.
WAGENER-SALLEY 60, WHITMIRE 6
Wagener-Salley (3-1) found the win column again with an offensive outburst against Whitmire (0-3).
Senior quarterback Malcolm Stroman showed his dual-threat capabilities, completing 5 of 7 passes for 134 yards and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Kyiian Miller while also running for 138 yards and two more scores on three carries. He also intercepted a pass.
Eric Corley carried the ball nine times for 104 yards and three touchdowns, and RJ Tyler was the War Eagles’ top receiver with four catches for 89 yards.
Ke’Aunri Holmes added eight carries for 86 yards and a 23-yard touchdown, and Kashawn Stroman and Cameron Shiffner each got in on the scoring with touchdown runs.
Wagener-Salley will host Blackville-Hilda (1-2) to start its Region 4-A slate next Friday.
