Wagener-Salley 52, Bethune-Bowman 6
Wagener-Salley (2-0) dropped Bethune-Bowman (0-2) on the Mohawks’ home turf Friday by a score of 52-6.
Eric Corley led the War Eagles’ scoring effort with four rushing touchdowns, and Ke’Aunri Holmes added two more. Henry Odom also had a scoring run.
Kyiian Miller provided a little balance by catching a touchdown pass from Malcolm Stroman.
The War Eagles will return home next week to host Pelion.
Fox Creek 32, McCormick 20
Fox Creek (1-1) got in the win column on the road at McCormick (0-2).
Dalton Swires scored on a 20-yard run to even things up in the second quarter, and Deondre Baskett scored his first of two rushing touchdowns to give the Predators a halftime lead. Jaquan Williams found the end zone twice in the fourth quarter to put the game away for Fox Creek, the first a 60-yard punt return and the second a 19-yard interception return.
Fox Creek will hit the road to play Branchville next week.
Chesterfield 25, Williston-Elko 14
Williston-Elko (0-2) took a brief lead in the third quarter over their Class AA foes, but Chesterfield (1-1) scored 12 unanswered points to seal the victory.
Quarterback Dillon Rivers led the Ram attack, completing 22 of 40 passes for 331 yards and all four Chesterfield touchdowns. Antonio Coleman led the Blue Devils with 13 carries for 90 yards and a 7-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Devon Fagans scored the home team’s other touchdown, a 15-yarder in the third quarter, and finished the night with four carries for 34 yards.
Andrew Milligan added 11 carries for 57 yards, and Faheem Richburg had six carries for 23 yards.
The Blue Devils will host rival Barnwell next week, seeking their first win of the season.
