According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A motorized shopping cart was reported stolen from Food Lion on Richland Avenue on Saturday. The cart was later recovered at the intersection of Richland Avenue and Cedar Street.
A 38-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Saturday after an officer pulled him over on York Street for making a wide turn and not using a turn signal. The man smelled strongly of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A 68-year-old Langley woman reported her cellphone missing on Saturday after she left it in her vehicle with the windows down at the health department on Beaufort Street.
A Sumter man and a Columbia woman were detained for shoplifting on Saturday after they tried to bake Blu-Ray players from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
A 16-year-old Aiken boy was detained for shoplifting on Saturday after he tried to take a shirt from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.
A 62-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Monday after he was seen driving erratically on Whiskey Road. The man smelled strongly of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Savannah Drive on Thursday. The owner reported that two vehicles were left unlocked, and wash cloths, towels, sheets and a GPS were missing.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A 30-year-old Ridge Spring man was detained for DUI on Sunday after he was pulled over on U.S. 1 for driving erratically. He was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
A burglary was reported at a home on Pearson Drive in North Augusta on Sunday. The owner reported a CD player and a DVR missing.
Additional burglaries were reported on Outing Club Road in Aiken and Carolina Springs Road in North Augusta.
