A North Augusta couple died in a car crash Sunday on Interstate 20 in Alabama.
Gene Manasco, 83, and his wife Barabara Manasco, 80, died on I-20 in Talladega County, Alabama near the 166 mile marker, according to police.
According to Alabama Department of Public Safety reports, the crash occurred at 6:55 a.m. Gene was driving the couple's 2011 Nissan Quest when the vehicle veered off the roadway, police said. The car hit a 1966 Peterbilt that was disabled on the interstate shoulder, and killed the couple, police said.
Alabama State Troopers still are investigating the crash.
