Sgt. Chase Kuhns of Ft. Gordon, GA and Ms. Emery Polochko of Aiken were the 2013 recipients of the Aiken-Augusta Penn State Club’s annual scholarship.

Kuhns, who is beginning his freshman year as a business major at the university’s Harrisburg (Pa.) campus, has been awarded a $1,000.00 freshman scholarship. Polochko, a business major at Penn State’s main campus at University Park, has been awarded a $4,476.00 continuing student scholarship.

The Aiken-Augusta Penn State Club established the scholarship several years ago and has built it into the third largest scholarship endowed by a Penn State club in the country. Nearly $36,000 in scholarships has been awarded since it was established. The scholarship is available to eligible Penn State students who live in the Central Savannah River Area.
