Authorities are obtaining new arrest warrants, including one for assault, against the man once accused of tricking an 18-year-old woman into letting him suck her toe in a Walmart store, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
Joey William Leaphart, 44, of Tutt Street in Langley, is now accused of touching a woman's leg while she was in the checkout lane at Walmart, then sticking a piece of chewed gum between her foot and her flip flop, according to a report.
The incident happened about 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Walmart on Richland Avenue, according to the report. The 45-year-old victim told officers Leaphart walked up behind her while she was checking out at a register and reached down behind her, touching her right calf.
The victim said she was on her toes reaching into her cart with the heel of her right foot raised off the ground, and that Leaphart placed a chewed piece of bubble gum between her right heel and her flip flop, causing her to step on the gum, the report stated. She said Leaphart then got closer, smiled and said, "I need to get my gum. It rolled under your foot."
The victim told Leaphart no and that he needed to back off, but Leaphart reportedly "persisted with trying to get his gum."
"(The victim) stated that he kept standing close behind her, smiling, until she stated that she would call law enforcement," the report stated. Leaphart allegedly turned and walked toward the garden center when the victim said she would call police.
Officers will obtain warrants for Leaphart for third-degree assault and trespassing notice. Leaphart, a registered sex offender who previously served time in prison for licking the toes of an 11-year-old girl, has run into trouble at Walmart stores before.
