The S.C. Highway Patrol made an arrest in a hit and run that left two people seriously injured early Saturday morning.

Sandra Huntington, 39, of Beech Island was arrested on Saturday afternoon, and was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily injury, according to Highway Patrol.

The two passengers of the moped were Robert Brooks, 48, of Beech Island and Kathrine Bentley, 32, of Windsor. Both were transported to Georgia Health Sciences University. Highway Patrol said neither occupant was wearing a helmet.

The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Pine Log Road near Russell Hills in Aiken, according to Highway Patrol. Both vehicles were heading south when the moped was struck from behind.

The vehicle was described as a 2010 to 2013 Kia Sportage SUV. The color of that vehicle is unknown, but there was noticeable damage between the center front and right front of the vehicle, according to Highway Patrol.
