Woman accused of stealing maps turns self in

An arrest has been made in a recent theft of project maps from City Hall.

Katherine Silas, 42, of Warrenville, has been charged with simple larceny after she turned herself in to authorities this morning.

She is accused by the Department of Public Safety of taking several maps last Tuesday morning of the Dougherty Road corridor study from Aiken City Hall, police said.
