The 39th season of the Hopelands Summer Concert Series continues with a performance by the Southern Meltdown Band on Monday.
The performance will take place on the Roland H. Windham Performing Arts Stage at Hopelands and will begin at 7 p.m., lasting approximately an hour.
The Southern Meltdown Band is from Aiken and features Ken Gabrie, formerly with James Brown, on lead guitar and vocals, David Cooper on guitar, Kenny Holland on bass and Les Kitchings on drums. The band specializes in country, Southern rock and blues. Monday's concert will feature classic country songs from Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Don Wilson, Willie Nelson and more.
The Hopelands Summer Concert Series will continue throughout the summer each Monday night until the end of August. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted and will be held at Hopelands on the Windham Performing Arts Stage.
The concert series is intended to bring the performing arts to Aiken and the surrounding area for fans of all ages. The event is family-friendly and free of charge. Food is allowed, but alcohol is not. Well-behaved pets on leashes are allowed.
Public parking is available at the Green Boundary Club on Whiskey Road across from Hopelands Gardens. Handicap parking is available at the Hopelands Gardens parking lot, 135 Dupree Place. Parking is not allowed on the sides of Berrie Road or Dupree Place.
