Ted and Ellen Arthur of Warrenville, S.C., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends on June 22 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Billy Goff.
When asked what the key to a long and happy marriage is, and their answer was, “We were married on July 4, 1943, which was a special day and the start of a special relationship, which endured the test of time. There have been good times as well as bad times, sickness and health, but with the blessing of the Lord and our love for each other and family, we made it 70 years and are now looking forward to 71. The Lord has been so good to us; we praise his name. He blessed us with wonderful children, Cherry Glisson and Bonnie (Billy) Goff; three great grandchildren, Dave Glisson, Chris Goff and Tina (Chad) Godwin; and four precious great-grandchildren, Clayton and Brandon Sherrod and Sydney and Nicole Goff.”
