According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

A 21-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after he allegedly tried to conceal a pair of shorts inside his pants at a store in the Aiken Mall.

A 46-year-old Aiken man reported that his credit card was stolen while he was swimming in his apartment complex’s pool on Tuesday. The victim reported charges of $385, $428 and $588 at three Aiken stores.

An unknown man took about $90 in merchandise from a store on Richland Avenue without paying on Tuesday. Officers later recovered the stolen items.

A 38-year-old Aiken man was detained for DUI on Thursday after he was pulled over on Whiskey Road for driving with no headlights on. The man smelled strongly of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.

A broken window was reported at a business on York Street on Wednesday.

Officers responded to an alarm caused by an open door at Aiken Middle School on Wednesday. The door was reportedly left open by some school employees.

Two vehicle break-ins were reported on Kendallwood Court on Thursday. An iPod and a GPS were reported missing.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

An ATV was reported stolen from Joyner Pond Road in Aiken on Wednesday.

Burglaries were reported on Rainbow Drive in Wagener, Spring Drive in North Augusta, Pearson Avenue in North Augusta, Parksville Lane in Aiken and Motlow Drive in Graniteville.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Hill Street in Bath on Thursday. The owner reported cash missing.
