Blotter for July 4
According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
An unknown woman shoplifted from a convenience store on Richland Avenue on Monday by allegedly concealing items inside a large bag and then leaving the store without paying.
An 88-year-old woman reported a peeping Tom outside her home on Tuesday. The woman told officers she was making her bed about 9:20 a.m. when she saw a man looking through her bedroom window into the home. Officers responded and searched for the man but were unable to locate anyone.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired on Price Avenue on Tuesday. They investigated but found no evidence of gunfire.
Vehicle break-ins were reported Tuesday on East Hedge Road, Meadow Wood Place and King Sports Way.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A burglary was reported at a home on Hidden Springs Drive in Jackson on Tuesday. The owner reported a television missing.
A second burglary was reported on Mister Avenue in Langley on Tuesday. The owner reported fireworks missing.
Officers responded to an alarm caused by an open door at a home on Parker Drive in Beech Island on Tuesday. They found no signs of forced entry and secured the door.
