Ronald Gene Gardner of Aiken has been arrested on 22 counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the state's Attorney General's Office.
The Attorney General's Office reports that in May, Gardner distributed video files containing child pornography to an undercover law enforcement officer. He was arrested on June 5 and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree, a felony offense punishable by two to ten years imprisonment on each count, and 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, made the arrest.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
