Kenneth Brodie wants to get out the word. The Village at Woodside, located off Silver Bluff Road, is having a Fourth of July Beach Blast celebration.
“It is open to everybody,” said Brodie, who is the residential sales specialist for the Village at Woodside. “We want to have a lot of people here.”
The event is scheduled for 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday. Admission is $5 per carload.
“We did this last year, but it wasn't nearly as big as this one is going to be,” Brodie said. “It will be on our second event field, and we're having sand brought in. There will be tents set up, and it will be easy to find everything once you get here.”
Tony Williams and the Blues Express will provide the music. A water slide and inflatables will be available for children to play on, and there also will be volleyball games.
In addition, a raffle is planned. Prizes will include artwork donated by Furniture Connection and a woman's gold and diamond pin, valued at $1,800, from Floyd & Green.
A Bruster's Ice Cream truck will be at the Beach Bash along with the event truck from Brand Mortgage of Augusta. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be given to anyone who makes a donation to the Aiken-Augusta Wounded Warrior Charity Golf Classic, according to Brodie. The Wounded Warrior Classic also will receive money collected from admission fees and the sale of raffle tickets.
Brodie said people attending the beach bash should bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on. Coolers will be allowed, but glass containers are prohibited.
The address for the Beach Bash is 230 Village Green Blvd. For more information, call Brodie at 803-645-6270.
