COLUMBIA (AP) — A Columbia man has been arrested in a wreck that killed a 15-month-old infant in the car.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 11 p.m. on Tuesday when the car ran off the road and hit several trees.

Twenty-four-year-old Justin Johnson is charged with felony DUI, child endangerment and simple possession of marijuana.

Authorities said Mason Nalls died at Palmetto Health Richland hospital. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said the baby appeared to be in a car seat, but that has not been confirmed.
