The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 245th commencement exercises in May. The following local students graduated: Christine Hang, of Aiken, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in architecture; Hayley McLeod, of Jackson, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemical and bio engineering; Tyler Muma,, of Aiken received a Bachelor’s of Science degree aerospace engineering; and James Scurry, of Saluda, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. The Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the nation’s leading research universities, providing a focused, technologically based education to more than 21,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
