Two armed juvenile males were being sought by the New Ellenton Police Department following shooting incidents in the small city south of Aiken early on Saturday night, according to media reports.
Two dogs reportedly were shot, one of them twice, in the Sizemore Avenue area and both were rushed to an emergency veterinary medical clinic for treatment. It also was reported that the juveniles fired shots at houses.
Attempts to locate the suspects using the Aiken County Bloodhound Tracking Team were unsuccessful.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted in the investigation following the shootings, according to Sgt. Jason Feemster, but he declined to provide any details.
Officer Larry Broderick of the New Ellenton Police Department on Sunday confirmed that the shooting incidents had taken place and he also confirmed their location. But because he wasn’t working on Saturday night, Broderick referred requests for information to Sgt. Hugh Ray. As of press time, Ray hadn’t returned two phone calls from the Aiken Standard.
