Sam's Club now hiring

The Membership & Hiring Center for the new Sam's Club in Aiken officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning.

Among those participating in the event were David Jameson, president and CEO of the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce, Aiken County Council Chairman Ronnie Young and Gerald Raymond, who will be the manager of the new Sam's Club.

The Membership & Hiring Center is located at 156 University Parkway, which is just south of USC Aiken. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Nine terminals are available for job applicants to use. People also can apply for positions online at www.careers.walmart.com.

Area residents can go to the Membership & Hiring Center to become members of the new Sam's Club.

Sam's Club is scheduled to open this fall in Aiken near the corner of Robert M. Bell Parkway and Highway 1. The store plans to hire approximately 175 associates.
