Traffic on Rutland Drive will be temporarily diverted this morning while an accident reconstruction team maps a collision that happened on Friday.

Investigators will be on the scene at 9 a.m., according to Sgt. Jake Mahoney, a spokesman for the Aiken Department of Public Safety. Traffic will be diverted between one and two hours this morning, he said.

Both westbound lanes of Rutland Drive will be closed. Traffic on Rutland Drive will share the eastbound lane and will be reduced to one lane of travel during his time.

"We ask that residents avoid the area to reduce any delays, and to use caution if they do travel on Rutland Drive during the mapping of the collision scene," Mahoney said.
