UPDATE: Body found in woods identified

The body found in a wooded area off Hamelin Road in Aiken County on Tuesday has been identified as 37-year-old Kevin Holder of Swansea, according to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

An autopsy on Wednesday confirmed that Holder died of a gunshot wound, Carlton said, adding that his death is being investigated as a homicide. The circumstances of his death remain under investigation.

The body was discovered in a wooded area near Hamelin Road at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday.
