Girls

Midland Valley 2, Strom Thurmond 1

Midland Valley (7-10, 2-8 Region 5-AAA) got the win with goals from Sarah Grace McClain and Alyssa Profitt. Anna Clark was in goal for the Mustangs, who host Ninety Six on Monday for Senior Night.

South Aiken 5, White Knoll 0

South Aiken (15-2-1, 7-2 Region 5-AAAA) shut out White Knoll with two goals and two assists for Jessica Schifer. Alaina Gay had a goal and an assist, and Macey Bosley and Miranda Gay scored one goal each. Sabrina Giancroce and Cheyanne Cashwell each had an assist.

Morgan Jara had three saves for the T-Breds, and Rachel Paczynski had two.

South Aiken will travel to play rival Aiken on Tuesday.

Boys

Aiken 1, North Augusta 0

Aiken (12-5-1, 6-2 Region 5-AAAA) shut out county foe North Augusta with its lone goal coming from Nick Smith. Bradley Cardona had six saves for the Hornets, who host Dutch Fork in a makeup game on Monday.

South Aiken 9, White Knoll 0

South Aiken (16-2, 8-1 Region 5-AAAA) got the blowout win with a balanced offensive effort. Tariq Hailiat had three goals, Owen Myers and Quinn Van Pelt had two each and Skylar Lightbody and John Granger chipped in one each. The T-Bred defense kept the Timberwolves from taking a single shot on goal in the match.

In JV action, Granger had a pair of goals to go with a goal each from Drew Champion and Adam McFall in a 4-0 win for South Aiken (13-2-1) over White Knoll. South Aiken will host Aiken on Tuesday for Senior Night.

SOFTBALL

Aiken Technical College 10, USC Salkehatchie 0

Aiken Tech (35-20) advanced in the winner’s bracket of the NJCAA Region 10 tournament with a shutout.

Tiffany Osmanski was in the circle for the Knights, who play Pitt Community College today at 10 a.m. at Citizens Park.
