Aiken Public Safety responded to a burglary alarm at a business on East Pine Log Road on Saturday, according to police reports. Officers arriving on scene found a window broken. Store surveillance captured an unknown man breaking the window with a hammer, entering the store, selecting some merchandise from a shelf, and placing it into a backpack before he fled the scene.

A 54-year-old man was detained for shoplifting on Sunday after he tried to take several items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying, according to police reports.

Aiken Public Safety is investigating vehicle break-ins on Laurens Street, Richland Avenue and Marlboro Street.

A dirt bike was reported stolen from a home on Pine Log Road in Aiken on Sunday, according to sheriff’s reports.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Old Shoals Road in Monetta on Monday. A firearm was reported stolen.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home on Durden Road in Warrenville on Sunday. The owner reported electronics missing.
