Darley Stable’s Secret Union will be making her stakes debut Sunday, in the 7-furlong, $75,000 Road Princess Stakes at Aqueduct. The lightly raced dark bay filly will be making the second start of her sophomore campaign, and the daughter of multiple Grade 1 winner Dixie Union will break from post position no. 2 in the five horse field. The filly was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim Jones.
A convincing winner in her previous start, one that saw the filly score a 5 1/4-length victory on Feb, 18, Secret Union is 10/1 on the morning line, and jockey Junior Alvarado will have the return call.
Secret Union is conditioned by Kiaran McLaughlin, and made both of her previous starts at Aqueduct, making her first start late in her juvenile campaign. The filly is out of the stakes placed Dynaformer broodmare Barney’s Mistress. Secret Union worked April 16th over the Belmont Park Training Track, breezing a half-mile in 48 4/5. Secret Union has earned $40,860.
