A 14-year-old girl was taken into custody Thursday for shoplifting at the Richland Avenue Walmart, according to a police report. She exited the store with a shopping cart containing merchandise she did not pay for, yet the suspect told police a Walmart store employee told her it was OK to exit the store before paying to find the party she arrived with. Walmart told police it will prosecute and requested the subject be placed on trespass notice. The suspect had in the cart three bed comforters, a sorting bin, one cook set and a double sky rise. The suspect was released to her aunt.

Two teenagers will reportedly be placed on trespass notice at Hobby Lobby after both were caught spraying each other with silly string in the aisles and spraying and spilling paint, according to a report. The store did not wish to prosecute, but asked that the subjects clean up the mess.

Several subjects attempted to leave the Whiskey Road Walmart on Thursday without paying for a shopping cart full of merchandise, according to a police report. When approached by a store employee who asked to see a receipt, the subjects left the cart and walked away. They left in a white Dodge Charger. The subjects attempted to steal Paula Deen cookware, George Foreman grills, Straight Energy, Black and Decker cordless drills, a hot air styling brush, a laser jig saw and a 30-piece mechanic set. All merchandise was returned to the store.

A Warrenville man was taken into custody Thursday by North Augusta Public Safety for four counts of forgery. The man admitted to finding and taking some checks in the trash can in front of a house. He advised he approached people at SRP Federal Credit Union on Richland Avenue in Aiken, allowed them to deposit the checks into their accounts, then give him the money.

A Williston woman was charged for shoplifting at the Whiskey Road Walmart after she left the store without having paid for some of the items in her shopping cart valued at $47.99, according to a police report. The suspect had a 4-month-old with her and no one responded to pick up the child. She was advised to turn herself in at a later date.

The Walmart on Richland Avenue reported Thursday that three suspects left the store without paying for $450 worth of merchandise. Store surveillance video showed the suspects loaded nine bed sheets into a cart and leaving the store without paying for the items, according to a police report. They put the items in a maroon Windstar van and drove away.

A Langley woman was taken into custody Thursday for disorderly conduct after she was found asleep in a parked car at Highway 421 and Tutt Street. A beer was open next to her, according to a police report. The woman stated she pulled over because she didn’t want to get in trouble for drinking.

Two mountain bikes were reported stolen from a Congaree Avenue residence in Aiken.

A North Augusta woman was taken into custody for shoplifting at the Four Seasons on Pisgah Road after not paying for a can of oil and two packs of auto fuses.

An Aiken man was taken into custody for unlawful entry of a dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana after he was discovered to be living in an abandoned house at the corner of Laurens Street and Columbia Avenue, according to a police report. Acting on a tip, police discovered the man in the house. While he was being searched, police found a crack pipe and a bag containing a green leafy substance.

A firearm and other items were reported stolen from inside a vehicle parked at a Schely Street residence in Warrenville.
