Fox Creek 7, Silver Bluff 6


Fox Creek (17-2) got the win with Dalton Swires (2-0) on the mound. Tyler Hogg (0-1) took the loss for the Bulldogs (14-5).


Brent Lacey went 2-for-4 for the Predators with a double and three RBIs, Forrest Whitfield went 2-for-3 and Roby Gillespie was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Thomas Colvin rounded out the Fox Creek star hitting performances with a two-run home run.


For the Bulldogs, Thomas Crumley and Austin Reeves each went 2-for-4.


Fox Creek will next play today at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler. Silver Bluff, the Region 5-AA champion, will begin the Class AA state playoffs on April 25 against the fourth-place team from Region 6-AA, likely either Bishop England or Academic Magnet.

Silver Bluff (7-1, 6-1 Region 5-AA) got goals from Favian Zambrano and Nerlin Nunez, and Christian Lopez had three saves as goalkeeper for the Bulldogs. Silver Bluff will host Edisto today.

South Aiken 3, Dutch Fork 2


South Aiken (12-2-1, 4-2 Region 5-AAAA), ranked No. 8 in the state, upset No. 4 Dutch Fork (7-2-2, 5-1) in region play. Jessica Schifer led the T-Bred scoring attack with two goals, and Macey Bosley added one goal. Sabrina Giancroce had two assists, and Laura Barnes had one.


Goalkeeper Morgan Jara had five saves for the T-Breds, who will host Lexington today at 7 p.m.

Aiken Technical College (30-20, 16-4 NJCAA Region 10) got wins with Tiffany Osmanski and Tiffany Sellers in the circle.


The Knights will close out their regular season at Pitt Community College on Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 2 p.m.
