Time is running out to purchase a ticket for the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken County’s 100 Women Luncheon on Wednesday at USC Aiken.
The deadline to buy tickets for the event is Friday, and it will feature Erin Merryn, a well-known crusader for the prevention of child abuse.
She is spearheading a campaign to get legislators in all 50 states to approve a measure known as “Erin’s Law,” that would require schools to include sexual abuse education in their curriculum.
Merryn was abused as a child. A friend’s uncle raped and molested her and later an older cousin molested her.
Tickets to the luncheon cost $30 apiece and can be purchased by calling the Child Advocacy Center at 803-644-5100 or by visiting the organization’s website at www.cacofaiken.org.
Tickets also are being sold at 3 Monkeys Fine Gifts at 141 Laurens St. S.W. and Material Things at 752 Silver Bluff Road.
The luncheon will be held in USC Aiken’s Business and Education Building from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24.
