Mary Anne Todd, a resident of Aiken, has recently been awarded the title of Master Knitter. This award, given by The Knitting Guild Association, follows a self-study program covering all levels of knitting expertise. In the program, the knitter must research techniques, from the most basic to the very advanced, and knit swatches or garments demonstrating mastery of these techniques. Study of the history of many knitting traditions, pattern development and design is also included.
Todd was judged in her quest by Master Knitters from across the United States and will be presented the Master Knitter pin at this year’s national convention of The Knitting Guild Association. She is also co-president of the CSRA Knitters Guild.
