Local courses swing into gear for Masters Week

Area golfers and those visiting for Masters Week have a variety of local courses to choose from if they wish to hit the links.

Several public and semi-private courses are available to play, including:

Aiken Golf Club

555 Highland Park Drive, Aiken

Length: par 70, 18-hole course

Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: A round of 18 before 3 p.m. costs $95, including a cart, divot tool, ball marker, and tees. After 3 p.m., golfers can play a round of 18 for $50, which includes a cart.

Cedar Creek Golf Club

2475 Club Drive, Aiken

Length: par 72, 18-hole course

Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Cost: $95 with a reservation for 18 holes and a cart; $50 with a cart for walk-ins.

Houndslake Country Club

Length: three 9-hole courses, all par 36

Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $100 per round with cart.

Midland Valley Country Club

Length: par 72, 18-hole course

Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: $50 with a cart.

Mount Vintage Plantation and Country Club

215 Mount Vintage Plantation Drive, North Augusta

Length: par 72, 18-hole course

Hours: Two starting tee-times, 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Cost: $300 for 18 holes with a cart, range balls and breakfast and lunch buffet.

Length: 9-hole, par 36 course

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Cost: 9 holes for $20, $25 for 18 holes, including cart; cash only.

The River Golf Club

Length: par 71, 18-hole course

Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cost: $200 to $250, including cart, breakfast and lunch, depending on time and tee availability.
