The owners of Fashionable Flip Flops and More, a previously home-based business featuring customized clothing and accessories, will open their first storefront location in downtown Aiken on Friday at 9 a.m.

The shop, located at 120˝ Laurens Street, will have a variety of items, including flip flops, metalworks, wreaths, jewelry, carry-all bags, drinkware, tailgating items, baby gifts, car decals and special occasion items.

Angie Holdorf and Heather Brazell, the store’s owners, actually started the business about six years ago, only deciding recently to open a brick-and-mortar location.

Holdorf said one of the store’s mottos is “if it can be monogrammed, we have it.”

“We try to fit everybody’s budget,” she said. “We plan to have items ranging from $3 up to $100.”

Brazell said she thinks the location will be particularly convenient for downtown shoppers.

“People that come down to eat and drink and walk around, we have a lot of things that they can choose from. We have a lot of little items that can be personalized.”

She added that the shop offers a large assortment of personalized gift items for events like birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries.

Business hours are tentatively scheduled to be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Holdorf said the shop also will be open all of next week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate shoppers during the Masters golf tournament.

A grand opening is also being planned for late April or early May.
