Aiken Public Safety is investigating an alleged panhandler on Chesterfield Street, according to reports.
The victim said her house was frequented by the suspect, for whom the victim could only provide name and race, according to the report. The victim’s family met the suspect when it gave her a ride to a location off University Parkway, but, recently, the suspect had been coming to the home and “aggressively attempting to get money out of them.”
At about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the suspect came to the home and banged on the door trying to get the family’s attention, according to the report. They ignored the knocks but the suspect was walking around the house and looking into windows.
The victim’s husband escorted the suspect off the property, the report stated.
