The Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating a burglary that occurred at a business on Laurens Street on Wednesday. The storefront window was found broken, but investigators found no one inside the building.

A residential burglary was reported at a home on Aldrich Street on Wednesday. The owner reported a television, a handgun, a laptop and a computer missing.

An additional burglary was reported at a home on Sommers Avenue on Wednesday. The burglar apparently broke a window to unlock a door, but nothing was reported missing.

A 45-year-old man was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after he tried to take a bottle of wine from a store on York Street without paying.

A Wagener woman was the victim of identity theft, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. The woman told officers she requested an online credit report that indicated her address had been used to open a satellite television account.

A stolen vehicle was reported on Amazing Grace Road in Warrenville on Wednesday.
