NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Memorial Services for Mr. Lee Kirkwood, 72, who entered into eternal life March 18, 2013, will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. T. Joseph Lusk officiating. Interment will be in Haxtun, Colorado at a later date. Mr. Kirkwood was a native of Fleming, Colorado, a former resident of Sterling, Colorado, having made North Augusta his home for the past 9 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Kirkwood worked for many years as a Commodity Broker with Allen Mitchek Feed and Grain in Sterling, Colorado and later as a self employed Grain Dealer. He was a loving husband, father and dedicated grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Kirkwood was a Life Member of the Sterling Elks Club and was a Lady Pacer Basketball, Denver Bronco Football and NHL Hockey Fan. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Kirkwood; a son, Scott Kirkwood, Haxtun, CO; a daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Mike Brandt, Aiken, SC; two grandchildren, Jaiden Brandt and Amaura Brandt; a brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Ramona Kirkwood, Sterling, CO; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Memorials may be made to the USCA Women's Basketball Program, 471 University Parkway, Aiken, SC 29801. Mr. Kirkwood was a donor to the Georgia Eye Bank, a cause that had great meaning to him. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta in charge of arrangements (803.278.1181).
