Man reports being fired at while driving
An Ohio man reported that someone fired a gun at him while he was traveling down Interstate 20 in Aiken on Thursday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened just after midnight.
The victim reported that while traveling west, an older model truck had been “trying to run into his trailer” for the previous 40 miles, according to the report. At one point, he swerved into the suspect vehicle’s lane to get the suspect to stop, and the suspect drove up next to him and fired a shot at the windshield.
The victim was unable to write a statement due to his scared and excited state. He requested EMS transport to be checked out for high blood pressure and some pain in his chest.
Officers found no bullet holes in the victim’s truck.
Man reports attempted theft from shed
A Langley man reported that a woman broke into his shed and tried to steal his digital camera and some beer, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened at a home on Pelzer Street in Langley about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the report.
The homeowner’s wife told him the alarm was going off in their shed, and when he went inside, he saw a woman standing next to the refrigerator holding his digital camera and a beer, according to the report. The homeowner told officers he’d seen the woman around before.
He asked the suspect why she was stealing his stuff, and the woman allegedly put the items down and responded, “I’m not stealing nothing,” according to the report. When she tried to walk out, the homeowner grabbed her by the jacket but let her go, and she fled on foot.
The suspect reportedly dropped a CD and a plastic cup near the front door of the shed.
