The irony of our society
What has happened to our country? If we lie to Congress, it’s a felony; if they lie to us, it’s just politics. If we dislike a black person, we’re a racist; if a black dislikes whites, it’s their First Amendment right. Our government spends millions on criminals but nothing on their victims. In public schools, homosexuality is OK, but we cannot mention God. It’s OK to kill an unborn child, but not a convicted murderer.
We are unable to close our border with Mexico, but we have no problem sewing up the 38th parallel in Korea tighter than a drum. If you protest the policies of President Obama, you’re a terrorist; if you protested President Bush or burned the flag, it was your First Amendment right.
Pornography on TV or the internet is OK, but public nativity scenes or menorahs are not.
All criminals are sick or culturally deprived. Most of them have better living conditions in jail than outside - air conditioning, plenty to eat, free clothing, free medical and dental, etc.
It’s OK to use a human fetus for medical research, but not an animal. We take money from those who work and give it to those who don’t. We selectively follow the Constitution, but only if doing so is politically correct. Parenting has been replaced with Ritalin.
If we have a major crisis, government forms a committee to find out who caused it, threatens them, raises taxes and tells us the problem has been solved.
We say God bless America, and then exclude him from every public acknowledgment of his existence.
And then we question what has happened to our country.
