Two people have been arrested and a third person is being sought following a Wednesday shooting on Greenville Street, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
Darryl Lavon Snow, 46, has been detained for the attempted murder of 26-year-old Christopher Maurice Johnson.
Snow was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was placed in the Aiken County detention center, where he remained Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened about 3 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson’s home on the 400 block of Greenville Street, police said. Officers arrived on the scene and found Johnson with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to reports.
Snow was reportedly shot as he fled the incident location, but he has refused to cooperate with investigators, and his shooter has yet to be identified, Sgt. Jake Mahoney said in a statement.
During the investigation, Aiken Public Safety detectives recovered weapons, illegal drugs and money at Johnson’s home, Mahoney said.
Christopher Maurice Johnson and Jennifer Lynn Oakman have been charged with trafficking crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mahoney said Johnson and Oakman may face additional charges.
Johnson has been arrested and remains in the Aiken County detention center. Oakman is still at large, Mahoney said.
