The Aiken Department of Public Safety has issued an arrest warrant for a third person they say was involved in an Tuesday armed robbery at a business on Richland Avenue.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Michael Tyrone Quarles, who has been charged with armed robbery.

Two Aiken men already have been arrested in the robbery. Carlos Demetrius Williams, 21, and Jamaques Deundray Salley, 23, were arrested just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday and placed in the Aiken County detention center, according to Lt. Karl Odenthal.

About 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, two men wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts, and armed with handguns entered the Quick Cash store on Richland Avenue, Odenthal said. After receiving an unknown amount of cash, the men fled in an unknown direction.

A female employee appeared to be the only person in the store when the robbery happened, Odenthal said. She was transported to a hospital as a precaution.

An employee at a nearby business called dispatch at 10:41 a.m. to report two suspicious people outside, Odenthal said. They were reportedly dropped off by a driver in a silver Dodge pickup.

“She's watching them as she's talking, and while she's starting to put out the call to dispatch at 10:41, she said they just walked into the Quick Cash place,” Odenthal said. “And then we get the 911 call saying there was an armed robbery.”

The scene was cleared by 11:30 a.m., and investigators worked around a building across the street to obtain footprints from the suspects, Odenthal said. Another witness near the check-cashing business also saw the two suspects, Odenthal said.
