When children arrive at the URS Performing Arts Center for Juilliard in Aiken’s special drama program, they’ll encounter a world of “Masks, Magic and Mischief.”
To get them ready for a remarkable, hands-on experience with Juilliard drama students, the Aiken Standard and Juilliard in Aiken have teamed up for a coloring contest for children ages 4, 5 and 6.
Masks are an important part of drama training at Juilliard, helping students learn to take on characters.
Entering is simple.
Children can color the mask drawing supplied. They can color the mask and the area around it, but must stay within the drawing box.
A winner will be selected from each age group: 4 years old, 5 years old and 6 years old. The age of the child for this contest will be determined by the child’s age on March 1, 2013.
Each winner will receive:
• Front row seats at the March 9 performance.
• A Juilliard T-shirt
• An opportunity to meet the actors after the performance.
• Their drawing will be published in the Aiken Standard.
• Their drawing framed.
Drawings must be received by the Aiken Standard by noon, Monday, March 4. The rules are on the entry form.
