Appreciates support for Red Cross

On behalf of the American Red Cross Aiken Area Chapter, I would like to personally recognize and thank Sue Rowe and the Green Boundary Club’s staff for their hospitality and assistance during the 2013 Sweet Charity Society’s Champagne and Chocolates event, which was held on Feb. 10 to benefit local Red Cross services.

For the third year in a row, the Green Boundary Club has graciously opened its doors to the Red Cross, and we are very appreciative of the thoughtfulness and excellent service that the Club provides to make the event a success.

I would also like to thank the 2013 event committee members: Suzanne Barnes, June Cannon, Sandra Heath, Kiki Lemmon, Betty McCullough, Susanne Mead, Patty Oakland, Susan Reynolds and Leslie Wilson.

In addition, I would like to thank the guests who came to the event, as well as Red Cross disaster relief volunteer, Debbie Day, and event committee member, June Cannon, who made this year’s presentation to those in attendance.

The success of the Sweet Charity Society’s event was a direct reflection of the hard work from these committee members, as well as the staff at the Green Boundary Club.

The Champagne and Chocolates event is held for women each year in order to raise awareness about the services provided by the local Red Cross in the Aiken area. Membership into the Sweet Charity Society begins with a $100 donation. For those that would like to learn more about the Sweet Charity Society or volunteer opportunities, please contact the Aiken Area Chapter at (803) 641-4152.

The committee and I look forward to having everyone join us again at next year’s event.

Lindsay Findley

Executive Director

American Red Cross Aiken Area Chapter
