The Aiken Republican Club will host State Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly at its next meeting to be held later this month.

Connelly will take a brief look back at the Nov. 6 election results, discuss upcoming 2014 Congressional and Senatorial elections and talk about how to “enhance the focus and energy of Republicans today and in the future,” according to a press release.

“We are pleased to have Chairman Connelly join us for our monthly luncheon meeting and look forward to hearing his insights on the party’s next steps following our last election,” said Ken Gordon, president of the Aiken Republican Club. “I think our members are energized and ready to learn what they can do to help the party reach its goals for the next election cycle.”

Connelly was elected chairman in May of 2011. He has served the GOP for more than two decades in a variety of capacities. He most recently served as chairman of the Newberry County Republican Party and as a 2004 delegate to the Republican National Convention.

Connelly began his career as an engineer and later started his own small business.

He spent the next 12 years working with other entrepreneurs to start their small businesses, according to the release.

Connelly is also the author of “Freedom Tide,” as well as the founder and president of the Foundation of American Restoration.

Connelly also serves on the board of South Carolinians for Responsible Government, the boards of the Palmetto Family Council and the South Carolina Citizens for Life, according to the release.

The luncheon will be held Feb. 20 at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St.

Registration and social hour will begin at 11 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $15 for Aiken Republican Club members and $20 for non-members.
